Route: Gangtok - Lachung - Yumthang - Gangtok

Meals: All meals starting with first lunch and last lunch.

Group Size: Private travels with any number of participants. Permits for north Sikkim with less then 4 participants are restrictive.

Day 1: Gangtok  - Lachung
Distance 118 km – 6-7 hrs drive
Start early for our long and spectacular drive through the North Sikkim Highway (NSH) into Lachung. There are several sites along the way, which you can stop to see, depending on your interest; this includes Kabi Lungchok and the monasteries at Phensong, Phodong, and Labrang and several villages or settlements. Lunch will be served along the way at Namok, a Wayside Inn.
Lachung at 2500m is an idyllic mountain village set amidst apple orchards with back-drop of lofty peaks. The natives are hardy stock of Bhutia, a semi-tibetan tribe, who call themselves Lachungpa. They also have unique self-governing body called the ‘zumsa’ where disputes are resolved by local consensus, without arbitration by the state government.
Including number of stops along the way, this will be a long day and so this evening is for rest until dinner and talks.

Day 2: Excursion to Yumthang
Lachung/Yumthang/Lachung: 26 + 26 km
After breakfast depart for Yumthang.
The lush green valley of Yumthang is set at an elevation of 3575 meters is Sikkim’s undisputed natural paradise, accessible by vehicle. From spring till summer, the attractive scenery of this area reaches its zenith when an immense variety of alpine flora populates the meadows, hills and the valleys. Yumthang is well known for its hot spring. On a clear day, one can get a spectacular panoramic view of the valleys, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Return to Lachung for late lunch or bring picnic lunch.
After lunch visit Lachung Monastery, Cottage Industry and Waterfalls.
Overnight in Resort.

Day 3: Gangtok
After breakfast, retrace our drive back to capital Gangtok. Along the way at Singkhik, weather permitting, there is a great view of Mighty Khangchendzonga and its adjoining peaks.
