On the border between West Bengal and Sikkim, Kalimpong is a tranquil hill station at an altitude of 1250m, located on top of a ridge east of the River Tista. It has stunning mountain scenery, gardens, many flower nurseries and small friendly bazaar town.
In Kalimpong, depending on the available time, you can visit Zong Do Palri or Durpin monastery, which also provides great views, visit Thongsa Gompa (Bhutanese monastery), Tharpa Choling monastery. You can also take a peek to see Dr. Graham's school, its small museum and school chapel. High above the School campus is Delo hills with views of Kalimpong and beyond. There are also several other view points and temples. You may also be able to see one of the private flower nurseries.
